Privacy, cookies and terms
This page sets out how information you share is handled, what a browser does when it loads a page here, and the basis on which the reference material on the site is published.
Contact and enquiries
If you write in using the address on the contact page, your message goes to that inbox and is used to reply to you. It is not passed to anyone else and is not used for anything beyond answering what you asked.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a browser stores so a website can remember something between visits, such as a setting you chose. Where this site uses one, it is there to make the site work.
Terms of use
The explainer and reference content on this site, including the pages on scheme registration and what a trade website must carry, is written to help you understand a topic and to point you to the body that administers it. It is not a substitute for checking current rules directly with that body, and it is not professional or legal advice for your particular business.
Where a page names a source such as Gas Safe Register, NICEIC, NAPIT, FENSA, TrustMark, the Competition and Markets Authority, the Advertising Standards Authority or the Information Commissioner's Office, that organisation's own published guidance is the one to rely on if the two ever appear to differ.
